| In November of 1928, Clarence "Stub" Tinker opened the doors on the Tinker Auto Co. in the old Humphrey Livery at the corner of Park street and Railroad Avenue. Two years later, in the spring of 1930, Arvid Johnson became a partner in the business thus becoming Tinker & Johnson. Tinker & Johnson was a one stop shop for Chrysler products as well as household appliances and Johnson Outboard motors as well as a filling station. | |
| In 1954, the facility was remodeled and expanded to its current size. A "Grand ReOpening" was held and Tinker & Johnson operated the business until 1973 when it was purchased by Tom Larson. | |
